The 2011-2016 Ford 3.5L has an inherent design flaw where not all of the OE stud locations are utilized by the OE manufacturer which leads to warped exhaust manifolds, broken exhaust studs and blown manifold gaskets. The cylinder head on Fords 3.5L Gas Ecoboost has threaded holes for 11 exhaust studs to be used, however the OE manifold only utilizes 8 of those stud locations.
BD has designed a manifold that not only utilizes all 11 stud locations, but also improves exhaust flow and has improved durability, the way it should have come from the factory. BD's Ford 3.5L exhaust manifolds are made from thicker-walled high silicone ductile iron designed to resist thermal warping. These manifolds have been port matched to the cylinder head to optimize efficiency and promote quicker turbo spool up.
Each kit includes 22 exhaust spacers and 22 class 8.8 studs designed to further improve thermal durability.

Look, there are claims that others make that the product gives you more HP. This is a straight to the point product. Good luck finding anything better. So get in line like I did. It's worth the waite.

Spoke with BD about this product before purchasing. The BD team clearly understood the problems Ford owners are having with these manifolds warping and snapping off studs off in the head. I was at 89,000 miles and the left side manifold had 2 broken studs and the right side had one broken stud. when starting the engine you could hear a loud ticking sound, and when I took off you could hear a loud bird chirp due to the gap between the manifold and the head. I was also only getting 8mpg. The dealer covered the labor and I purchased these for replacement. Like a new truck again. Took them 3 days to get it done as it took almost a full day to get the 3 snapped studs out. Truck has no tick and no bird chirp. Compared to the stock manifolds, these are much heavier, and you can clearly tell the difference in the wall thickness. The trucks power is much better, overall excellent response by BD to get these to me in a few weeks, very knowledgeable staff and excellent customer service. Highly recommend these manifolds over the stock manifolds, or any other option on the market as they use 11 of the stud locations versus the 8 stock or 9 offered by others, especially the additional support around the problem areas - where the turbos sit. Will definitely look for more from BD Diesel!

Out of the box they look amazing. I had a hard time with install. i had issues with the hardware not going into the threads clean. I had to repeatedly use a tap/thread chaser or cleaner on the hardware and manifold to turbo holes to get them to go in smooth. Other than that the truck runs great no issues.
