What is the difference between a short block and a long block?

A short block is the engine's bottom end: the block, crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons. A long block includes the short block plus the cylinder head, camshaft, and valvetrain, making it a more complete assembly.

What is a core charge?

A core charge is a deposit you pay until you return your old, rebuildable engine (the 'core'). Once we receive and inspect your core, the deposit is refunded. See the product page for details.

Do I need to tune my truck for a new engine?

For stock replacement 'Essential' engines, a new tune is not typically required. For our 'Street Performance' or 'Heavy Hauler' models, custom tuning may be recommended to take full advantage of the upgraded components.

Are your remanufactured engines better than stock?

Our engines are remanufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications. We identify and address common factory failure points, often resulting in a more durable and reliable engine.

Are these engines fire-ringed?
