The 48RE Geartrain for 2003–2007 Dodge 5.9L Cummins applications is designed for those rebuilding their 48RE transmission. This geartrain is not just a factory-style replacement. It has undergone extensive testing and additional machine work to improve reliability. The factory-installed thrust washers have been replaced with Torrington bearings, which require less fluid for lubrication and generate less heat.
